GLXJEENT: Creating New Journal Entry Throws: APP-FND-01030: 'Value XX is longer than its maximum length of NN characters' (Doc ID 2005416.1)

Symptoms

GLXJEENT: Attempting to create a new journal in General Ledger (GL), after entering the code combination's segment values, the following error is thrown.

Looking into the value set for each segment, one can see that all segment values match the maximum length defined.

ERROR:

APP-FND-01030: 'Value XX is longer than its maximum length of NN characters'

 

Additional symptoms that may occur:

1. GLNSVI 'Program - Inherit Segment Value Attributes' may throw error similar to <Note 248842.1> 'ORA-1407 When Running The Inherit Segment Value Attributes Program - Scripts to troubleshoot'

2. GL Code Combinations form (GLXACCMB) may throw error when searching for the same code: 'Value XX for the flexfield segment YY does not exist in the value set ZZ'
