Install Base Instance Expiration From System Throws NullPointerException on InstanceSearchVOImpl.expireItems. (Doc ID 2007869.1)

Symptoms


When an Install Base Instance is expired through a System, the following error occurs.

ERROR

java.lang.NullPointerException
at oracle.apps.csi.instance.search.server.InstanceSearchVOImpl.expireItems(InstanceSearchVOImpl.java:1095)
at oracle.apps.csi.instance.search.server.InstanceSearchAMImpl.expireInstances(InstanceSearchAMImpl.java:551)

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:


1) Query for a System
2) Click on the 'View Active Item Instances' icon :
3) Click on the 'Expire' button and select the record to be expired
4) Click on the 'Apply' button to expire the instance and it shows the error
5) Click on 'Click here for exception details'
