Oracle Receivables - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You are attempting to copy an Invoice, with a future date, with no changes made to the Invoice.
The GL Date remains with the Future date that was used when it was copied.

However, when an Invoice is copied with a future date, and the line description is changed, the GL Date automatically changes to the current month's GL Date.
A future GL Date cannot be saved when the line description is changed after copying another invoice and the following error occurs:

APP-AR-11425: GL Date has been set to 31-OCT-2014.
APP-AR-11203 GL Date, 11-FEB-2015, is not in open or future-enterable period

Steps to Reproduce:
Navigation:   Transactions > Transactions
1. Query on invoice that you want to copy, ie: 5009256
2. Click on Actions > Copy and copy this invoice
3. Find new transactions created
   Transaction number 5009424
4. Click on Line Items.
5. Update the Description under the Rules Tab
   and get first error message
6. Try to change the GL Date back and get second error.

Business impact:
Due to this issue users cannot change and save the line descriptions for future invoices, until the actual period occurs.
They would have to remember all the changes and rush to change descriptions in the month that the invoice would have to be completed.
