Duplicate Demand on Order with ATO Model (Doc ID 2016509.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Order Management - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Problem Description/Question:

Find supply demand form shows record for optional item / configured, even though order line records shows visible_demand_flag as 'N'

Steps Taken to Debug Issue:
1) Sales Order Created
2) Model Line created
3) Model Line Configured
4) Booked
5) Automaticially schedule shipdate created
6) Using progress Order Star Item Created
7) Visible demand flag shows as 'Y' for Star Item and 'N' for other Items (Optional or MFG Items)
8) In Inventory --> Supply and Demand Screen --> Query the any Item --> It displays as Demand
The Steps from 1 to 7 is ok at our end.
But in 8th step, we need not required to receive as a demand for a Optional/MFG Item
(Even, visible demand flag is 'N' in Sales Order Line)

The optional/MFG items will continue to show as demand in inventory since the config item is created using the same and hence they'll be shown as demand.
For the config item, once the Work Order is created then the demand for option/MFG items is transferred to "Work Order" from "Sales Order".
So till the time the config line is create and not progressed to work order then the demand will be against the Sales Order only."

The above points are working fine after the application of <Patch: 17831423>

Steps we are doing as per our business scenario.

1) We have configured the ATO Model
    Sample Qty = 10
    Line : 1.0

2) Split into many lines and Scheduled.(Star Item and Work Order created)
    Lines : 1.1,1.2,1.3,1.4
    Qty : (1+1+1+1)

3) We are having Star Item not created configured ATO models in Sales Order
    Line : 1.0
Star Item not created configured ATO models Qty = 6

4) In this case, after the application of patch, we are getting demand for configured optional/MFG items (ATO Models) also
a)Demand displayed for configured optional/MFG items (ATO Models)
Star Item not created configured ATO models Qty = 6
      Line : 1.0
    b) Demand not displayed configured optional/MFG items (ATO Models)
       Lines : 1.1,1.2,1.3,1.4
       Qty : (1+1+1+1)

In (a) case , We need not required demand for optional/MFG items (ATO Models) at any time.
This is the problem at out end.
