Suggested Buyer Validation in POR_CUSTOM_PKG Always Fails For Catalog Item (Doc ID 2023045.1)

Last updated on JUNE 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle iProcurement - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In 12.2.4

After implementing customization in POR_CUSTOM_PKG to show error if Suggested Buyer is null, the Suggested field prompt behaves differently for Non-Catalog request checkout than for catalog request checkout.

NON-CATALOG REQUEST:  The application shows the Suggested Buyer field with blank value during checkout, and then shows error if the user tries to submit without populating Suggested Buyer value.
CATALOG REQUEST:  The application DOES NOT show the Suggested Buyer field at all during checkout, but DOES show error if the user tries to submit without populating Suggested Buyer value.
The error is shown for both cases, but the problem is the Suggested Buyer field is not even available for entry during checkout for the catalog request items, so the users cannot correct the data based on the error from POR_CUSTOM_PKG.
