Is it possible to Disable Post and Reverse Button for Journals Restricted by Security Rules (Doc ID 2027118.1)

Last updated on JULY 07, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.1.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Form:GLXJEREV.FMB - Reverse Journals

Goal

When using the form GLXJEREV - Reverse Journals, it is possible to reverse a Journal Batch despite security rules being in place, when the user reversing the Journal Batch is an authorized employee to reverse a Journal but only for his own company.

The batch contains lines from his company but there are also lines from other companies in the batch. The Journal Header is visible on the form but the Journal Lines are not shown.

There are no Journal Lines shown when a Journal Batch is selected from another company but it is still possible to reverse the Journal Batch.

This is possible because the Security rules only apply to the creation/modification of Journal Lines. They do not apply when the Journal is posted. This is mentioned in <note:176208.1> Security rules can not restrict posting the journal.
