Last updated on APRIL 04, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.0.1 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Accounting Setup Manager (ASM)

Goal

When defining a new Secondary Ledger in Accounting Setup Manager (ASM) by starting from and connected to an existing Primary Ledger you want to change the Average Balances option status inherited from the Primary Ledger level.

You need to use a Secondary Ledger in order to generate a Different Accounting Representation for statutory purposes but currently a new Secondary Ledger cannot use Average Balances if the Primary Ledger does not.
This is mentioned in <note:1543309.1> R12 Secondary Ledgers Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Also you cannot change the Average Balances option for an existing Primary Ledger as per <note:734099.1> Is it possible to Enable Average Balances For Existing Ledger in Release 12 ?
