Cancel Wave Function Does Not Backorder Move Order Lines When Releasing In Partial (Doc ID 2039306.1)

Last updated on JULY 08, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Warehouse Management - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You find that the Cancel Wave function does not backorder move order lines when releasing in partial. You're in the wave planning form, the expectation is the Cancel Wave function should cancel the wave and backorder any associated move order lines. You observe that if the wave releases all lines completely, then the wave can be cancelled and the move order lines are backordered. If the wave is released partially, with some lines backordered or removed from the wave, then the cancel wave function does not backorder the move order lines. The wave is simply cancelled.

1. Warehouse Manager > Wave Planning > Create Wave > Release Wave
2. Using a partially released wave try to cancel the wave. The result will be : Wave XXX is cancelled. There is no message regarding Move Order Lines.
3. Go to Inventory Management > Material Transactions > Transact Move Orders > and view your move order lines.
If you do this with a line that releases 100%, then the move order lines are backordered at the Cancel Wave
