Interface Move Transactions to Oracle Assets Not Calling Client Extension when FA Instance Locations are the Same but Employee is Changed (Doc ID 2049369.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Asset Tracking - Version 12.1.3 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3 version

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Users had defined two subinventories under the same organization. Both subinventories have the same inventory location but they have different employee_id defined in DFF.

After doing a subinventory transfer transaction, user runs the 'Interface Move Transactions to Oracle Assets' program but the change assignments did not occur (i.e. employee_id did not change on the asset).

Value of employee_id is derived from cse_asset_client_ext_stub.get_employee procedure.

Now, as there is no change in FA Location nor an Instance change, the following condition in PROCEDURE cse_asset_move_pkg.do_dist_transfer will be met:

As a result, cse_asset_client_ext_stub.get_employee is not called and employee_id will not be changed for the asset after this sub inventory transfer.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Interface Move Program should call call cse_asset_client_ext_stub.get_employee when FA Location and Instance location are the same.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
