Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.2.0 to 6.3.4 [Release 6.2 to 6.3]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

We are using Office 365 for email hosting. According to Microsoft Technet, Office 365 uses port 587 or if necessary port 25 to connect for SMTP. The preferred method is to use username / password to authenticate when sending email.
According to the OTM 6.3.4 Security Guide I can send email with username / password in the SMTP Host property setting.

a) Can I also set the port number in the SMTP Host?
b) Does this < Bug 20523277> : FP 6.3.4.1-6.3.7:SMTP AUTHENTICATION NOT POSSIBLE WITH USER NAME BEING AN EMAIL mean it does not work unless I upgrade to 6.3.7?
c) Are there other patches that would need to be applied?
