12.2 E-Business Suite Services For The Http Server Are Not Starting On DMZ Node (Doc ID 2052853.1)

E-Business Suite 12.2.4, Upgrade related issues

HTTP services are not starting on DMZ node after upgrade related activities.

When starting HTTP services on the DMZ node (which has SSL configured), we get the following error:


/u01/<HOST>/fs2/dir=<DIR>/webtier/ohs/bin/apachectl startssl: execing httpd
[Wed Aug 26 21:48:45 2015] [warn] Errors will be logged into /u01/<HOST>/fs2/dir=<DIR>/dir=<DIR>/dir=<DIR>/dir=<DIR>/diagnostics/logs/OHS/dir=<DIR>/name=<NAME>.log
[Wed Aug 26 21:48:46 2015] [warn] Errors will be logged into /u01/dir=<DIR>/fs2/dir=<DIR>/dir=<DIR>/dir=<DIR>/dir=<DIR>/diagnostics/logs/OHS/dir=<DIR>/name=<NAME>.log

apachectl is not owned by this user
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Start services on DMZ node
2. Error occurs and services fail to start

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot start the HTTP services on the privileged port.
