Symptoms

On : 12.1 HRMS RUP8 version, Hire, CWK Placement, Appl Hire

When attempting to Hire Applicant using Applicant Hire and Rehire, the following error occurs.


You cannot add another assignment to this position. The Position Type is a single incumbent and an assignment already exist for it.


Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Terminate an existing Employee with a Single Incumbent position (with FTE=1 and HeadCount=1).
    Navigation: People -> Enter and Maintain.
2. Query the position, verify Position Occupancy - show the ex-employee.
    Navigation: US Super HRMS Manager -> Work Structures -> Position -> Description, Query the Position, click Others button, Select Occupancy.
3. Using 'Manager Self Service' responsibility -> Applicant Hire and Rehire function try to hire and Applicant into the same Single Incumbent positions - shows error.


Using Core Application:
1. Using People -> Enter and Maintain, Hire an employee (After Step1 from above) to the above Single Incumbent position , no error.
2. Now terminate the employee, shows error - You cannot add another assignment to this position. The Position Type is a single incumbent and an assignment already exist for it.


Using People -> Maintain Using Templates:
1. Hire an employee (After Step1 from above) to the above Single Incumbent position , no error.
2. Navigate to People -> Enter and Maintain, Try to Terminate the employee, Shows Error - You cannot add another assignment to this position. The Position Type is a single incumbent and an assignment already exist for it.
