Consideration around previous 11i OPM Financials periods and current period during Final Migration from 11i to R12 (Doc ID 2061044.1)

Goal

You are Upgrading EBS from Version 11.5.10 to R12.1.3 and have business case similar to following:
During upgrade, by using converge migration form you may have converted the 11i OPM Inventory Orgs. as sub inventory in R12.
You  are using several cost calenders in 11i, which have been changed into single cost calender in R12.
As per the oracle upgrade guide and migration checklist, you need to close all the Inventory periods, OPM period, Cost period and Financial periods before going for upgrade.
Questions that have been raised by some customers:

Q1: Can we open these  old periods after final migration ?

Q2: Do we need to plan for final migration in between month period or we need to go for upgrade only at month start?
