Symptoms

When performing a Database Character Set Conversion to Unicode (UTF-8) using Oracle Database Migration Assistant for Unicode (DMU), some data in the General Ledger tables has expanded beyond the length of its column width when converting to Unicode.
This data needs to be shortened before the conversion can take place.

The affected data can include the following :-

GL_JE_HEADERS NAME, DESCRIPTION Unposted Journals can be fixed via the forms: Journals > Entry

GL_JE_LINES DESCRIPTION, REFERENCE_1, REFERENCE_5 Unposted Journals can be fixed via the forms: Journals > Entry
Posted journals need a datafix - log an SR
GL_IMPORT_REFERENCES REFERENCE_1, REFERENCE_5 Needs a datafix - log an SR
RG_REPORT_STANDARD_AXES_TL STANDARD_AXIS_NAME Needs a datafix - log an SR
