Ship Confirm Fails with Error 'Serial number is not valid' when Serial Number is Using Non-Alphanumeric Character (Doc ID 2069168.1)

Symptoms

Problem Statement
When serial number is using non-Alphanumeric character(Double-byte character such as Japanese character, Chinese character, etc),
Ship Confirm fails with 'Serial number is not valid'.

Error
Serial number is not valid.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Receive serial controlled item by Miscellaneous Receipt and input serial number which contains non-Alphanumeric characters
  2. Create a Sales Order for the item and Book it
  3. Perform Pick Release
  4. Transact Move Order
  5. Perform Ship Confirm
  6. Ship Confirm fails with 'Serial number is not valid'

The following debug message shows in WSH and Inventory debug log.

      errored serial_number1 ==> xxxxxxxx
      errored serial_number2 ==> xxxxxxxx
