Symptoms
Problem Statement
When serial number is using non-Alphanumeric character(Double-byte character such as Japanese character, Chinese character, etc),
Ship Confirm fails with 'Serial number is not valid'.
Error
Serial number is not valid.
Steps to Reproduce
- Receive serial controlled item by Miscellaneous Receipt and input serial number which contains non-Alphanumeric characters
- Create a Sales Order for the item and Book it
- Perform Pick Release
- Transact Move Order
- Perform Ship Confirm
- Ship Confirm fails with 'Serial number is not valid'
The following debug message shows in WSH and Inventory debug log.
errored serial_number1 ==> xxxxxxxx
errored serial_number2 ==> xxxxxxxx
errored serial_number2 ==> xxxxxxxx
