AME: Error on PO Approvals 'ORA-20202: No rate exists between the two currencies for the given date and conversion type' (Doc ID 2070563.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 02, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Purchasing - Version 12.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using the Approval Management Engine (AME) for Purchase Order (PO) approvals, the PO limits are defined in USD as that is reporting currency.   POs will be created in other Operating Units (OUs) as well where currencies are different; e.g., GBP, EUR etc.

Two scenarios will explain the problem:

Example: OU - Ireland with functional currency EUR
1) In this OU create a PO in currency USD. The PO follows the AME rules and gets approved accordingly.

2) In the same OU create a PO in currency EUR. This is where the error takes place and the PO remains in an 'Incomplete' status.

Expectation: For scenario 2) above, the PO should use the currency conversion rate and follow the AME process.

Note: the 'POR: Default Currency Conversion Rate Type' profile option has been set to 'Corporate' and rates have been defined.

ERROR for scenario 2) :
-----------------------
ORA-20202: No rate exists between the two currencies for the given date and conversion type. The from currency was EUR. The to currency was USD. The conversion type was . The conversion date was 28-SEP-15
