In 11i if the user search the Service Request by giving a space before the SR number (i.e. " 1234"), the leading space will be removed automatically by the system and the search will be done successfully.
In R12 when the user gives the SR number with a space in front, they get an error.
Users do not enter the space intentionally.
Mostly they will not see the screen when they are entering the number, so there is a lot of chance where they press the space bar and enter the SR number while doing the search.
FRM-40212: Invalid value for field INCIDENT_NUMBER.
(N) Service Request > Find Service Requests
- Enter a space before the SR number (i.e. " 1234")
