Symptoms

Problem Statement
Item attributes "Check Material Shortage" and "Transactable" are interdependent attributes. "Check Material Shortage" must be No if "Transactable" is set to No.

With the following steps,
Attribute Dependency Conflict(Item: Transactable=No, Check Material Shortage=Yes) happens.

Because of this data corruption(Attribute Dependency Conflict), user will face APP-INV-86696 error when updating any attribute.

Error
APP-INV-86696: Cannot propagate Master controlled attribute value of
Transactions Enabled Flag to child organizations.

Cause: This operation would result in attribute dependency conflict of Check
Shortages Flag (value: 'Y') and the Transactions Enabled Flag (value: 'N') in
one of the child organizations.

Action: Check the Attribute Control settings on these flags

Steps to Reproduce

    1. Navigate to Inventory: Setup > Items > Attribute Controls
Set item attribute controls as below:
      Transactable : Org Level
Check Material Shortage : Master Level

    2. Navigate to Inventory: Items > Master Items
Create master item with following values:
      Transactable : Yes
      Check Material Shortage : Yes

    3. Assign item to both Master and Child Organizations

    4. Navigate to Inventory: Items > Organization Items
      Uncheck "Transactable"
(Change the Item Status to Inactive will reach to the same result.)
      Save

    5. Attribute Dependency Conflict(Item: Transactable=N, Check MaterialShortage=Y) happens.
