Item Simple Search Stuck After Creating A Default Personalized Display Format

A user created a 'Personalize Display Format' to use for his 'Item Simple Search'.
The user cannot launch the 'Item Simple Search' -- It just hangs, chugs, and spins away until a 'Page cannot be displayed' error shows up.
The user would like to delete the Personalized Display Format but the user cannot get to the screen in order to delete it. Clicking on Favorite Items or even Advanced Search hangs.
What is working
When another user logs into this user's machine using their own Oracle Username, everything works fine. This indicates the issue is specific to the one user and personal display format.
1. Create a 'Personalize Display Format' to use for his 'Item Simple Search.
2. Observe that it hangs for the user who created it (but the form does not hang for any other users).
3. Observe that this personalization cannot be removed.
