Symptoms

Find the ECO Open Interface program is not populating DESCRIPTIVE_TEXT value into ENG_REVISED_ITEMS table  from ENG_REVISED_ITEMS_INTERFACE table.

It is required to have some important data to be populated into this column so that users can verify the revised items implemented by the ECO.
However, it did workout while using the API ENG_ECO_PUB.PROCESS_ECO, but it is not possible through ECO Open Interface.

Below is the sample script to populate the data into ENG_REVISED_ITEMS_INTERFACE table.

  INSERT INTO apps.eng_revised_items_interface
  (
  change_notice,
  scheduled_date,
  transaction_type,
  process_flag,
  organization_code,
  revised_item_number,
  revised_item_id,
  eng_changes_ifce_key,
  status_type,
  descriptive_text
  )
  VALUES
  (
  lv_econum_txt,
  SYSDATE,
  'CREATE',
  1,
  cur_comp_rec(i).organization_code,
  cur_comp_rec(i).alias_item,
  cur_comp_rec(i).alias_item_id,
  lv_econum_txt,
  4, --Scheduled
  'Base Model '||cur_comp_rec(i).model_item||' Logic Table '||cur_comp_rec(i).logic_table
  );

Expected Behavior
Descriptive_ text value should also pass the value in the ENG_REVISED_ITEMS table

Steps

  1. Insert data in to ENG_REVISED_ITEMS_INTERFACE
  2. Run the ECO open interface program
  3. Descriptive_text value is passing as Null in the ENG_REVISED_ITEMS
