12.2 Starting a Managed Administration Server Using the Msimode Switch Fails with ERROR [main] com.oracle.cie.domain.script.ScriptExecutor - read domain...The domain directory must exist (Doc ID 2093180.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 22, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle E-Business Suite Technology Stack - Version 12.2.4 to 12.2.5 [Release 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Users are unable to start the Weblogic administrator server on a cloned node.

The server is setup using the Singleton service configuration for a policy managed server, and requires additional configuration in 12.2.4 for admin server high availability features.

For servers using the singleton managed service RAC chooses the instance where a service is active, and if the instance is down the service will failover to another instance in the same pool.

The workaround is to start the managed servers independently using the msimode switch. However testing with the mismode switch fails on both the newly added secondary node and the primary node (if the admin server is not running).
