Goal
E-Business Suite R12 Applications Technology Stack, Database for Applications Technology Real Application Cluster (RAC) issues
Discuss steps to upgrade a RAC-enabled database to the latest release, while maintaining the same E-Business Suite version.
The Cluster Ready Services (CRS) will also need to be upgraded.
The application tiers must not be upgraded or changed during this process
The below example is based on 12.1.3 running with a RAC-enabled 11.2.0.3 database.
The goal is to upgrade the database to 12c, while keeping the RAC configuration. The12.1.3 application tiers servers are unchanged.
The same upgrade concepts and general steps can be applied to other EBS versions and database releases.
For example if upgrading a RAC database 11g to 12c with 12.2.5 refer to the following two documents:
