Last updated on JANUARY 29, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After completing the setup for the ledger, legal entities, assigning Balancing Segment Value (BSV) and creating a sequence and sequence version, the List of Values (LOV) does not display any BSV when attempting to to create the sequence context.

1. Set up the ledger
2. Set up legal entities
3. Attach at least one BSV to each legal entity (LE).

Attempt to create and assign sequences, following steps 4 through 6
4. Create the ‘Sequence’ and Its ‘Version’
Navigation: General Ledger Responsibility -> Setup -> Financials -> Sequences -> Accounting -> Define

5. Create Sequencing Context
Navigation: General Ledger Responsibility -> Setup -> Financials -> Sequences -> Accounting -> Assign
Sequencing context basically captures information upon the event entity combination that will fire sequencing along with other details on sorting and assignment.

6. Assign Sequences to Sequencing Context
Navigation: General Ledger Responsibility -> Setup -> Financials -> Sequences -> Accounting -> Assign
Query the Context and Click "Assign Sequences‟.
Provide the sequence control attributes for the sequence.

When creating the sequence context, the check box for the balancing segment values of the selected ledger that are fiscal in nature should be checked.

However, no BSV are showing in the LOV so user is unable to select the balancing segment values that are fiscal in nature.
