Customer Tax Exemption on a Transaction is not applied to lower levels after Patch 21213464 was applied.
On the Party Tax Profile, you can enter a 2nd exemption using a different content owner, and receive the following error:
An exemption already exists for the tax registration in this effective period. Please enter a different date range.
You should be able to create the same exemption for different content owners (example 2 different Legal Entities (LE)) for the same party or 3rd party.
The Customer setup can be in two different operating units and each operating unit has a different LE. Both LE's are tied to the same tax regime.
Steps to Reproduce:
Responsibility: E-Business Tax
Navigation: Ebtax > Parties > Party Tax Profile
1. Select a party or 3rd party record
2. Click on Exemptions tab and Create an exemption at just the tax regime level (no tax entered)
3. Enter a LE for the content owner and Save
4. Enter a new exemptions, using all the same data, but change the context owner to a different value from the LOV of the field.
The Exemption Certificate is defined at the Third Party level and the option apply to lower levels is active.
