Last updated on MARCH 28, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Inventory Management - Version 12.1.3 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Material allocation against work orders are not being handled correctly during one-step material issue process. Previous allocated material on a work order is allowed on another work order. This is causing inventory to be driven negative even though negative balances is not allowed.

STEPS
--------

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1) Check the onhand quantity of an item that was previously requested on a released work order.
2) Create material allocation on another work order for the same item.
3) The item was allowed to issue against the second work order using 'one-step material issue' process inspite of the fact that it was already allocated to the first work order.
