Address Information Field is Mandatory After Upgrade to 12.1 HRMS RUP8 and 12.2 HRMS 6 in Shared HR (Doc ID 2133604.1)

Last updated on JULY 07, 2020

Applies to:

Oracle Purchasing - Version 12.1.3 and later
Oracle Human Resources - Version 12.1 HRMS RUP8 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After upgrade to 12.1 HRMS RUP8 the address field on Person Information form (PERWSEMP.fmb) used in Shared HR is showing as mandatory

Person Information form: on the "Address" tab click the Address field and the flexfield opens.
Close the flex window by not entering any values for the fields. Try to close the Address form but the form asks to save and the window does not close.

It is expected that the address is not mandatory in a Shared HR install.

Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

From within Shared Human Resources:

1.  HR Foundation responsibility

2.  Create a new Employee or query any existing Employee

3.  Select Other

4.  Address defaults with Style: US international

5. The address line is 'yellow' which means the address is mandatory

From within Purchasing:

1. Use Purchasing Super User responsibility

2. Setup -> Personnel -> Employee

3. Query any employee or create new

4. Click More

5. The address line is 'yellow' which means the address is mandatory
