FRM-40831: Truncation Occurred: Value Too Long For Field EMAIL_ADDRESS (Doc ID 2136204.1)

Last updated on MAY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Advanced Collections - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When sending an email on a Promise to Pay Confirmation letter (or any other correspondence aside from Dunning Letters in Advanced Collections), the following error occurs when the email field is > 100 characters:

FRM-40831: Truncation occurred: value too long for field EMAIL_ADDRESS

The Accounts Receivable Customer form allows for multiple addresses, separated by a comma, so the email can be sent to multiple addresses.  The AR form allows 2000 characters in that field, while the IEX Send
Correspondence window allows only 100.

Steps to Reproduce:

Responsibility: Collections Agent
Navigation
: Collections

  1. Enter a Promise to Pay for a customer, where the contact has multiple email addresses defined, and those emails exceed 100 characters in length.
  2. Submit the Promise to Pay which submits the confirmation letter.
