Web ADI Error Message "Enter a valid User Name" Does Not Disappear From Spreadsheet In Custom Web ADI Even After Re-downloading The Document (Doc ID 2142020.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 26, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Web Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 12.2.4 to 12.2.4 [Release 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

On Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) 12.2.3 and later,
on a custom Integrator if any validation fails then user defined error messages will be displayed:

Enter a valid User Name

NOTE: This error does not disappear from the spreadsheet even after downloading (Excel Oracle Menu > Download) the spreadsheet again, which is misleading to end users.

This can be reproduced with the following steps:
1. If a custom Web ADI has a column called User Name and it has logic to identify whether the entered name is correct.  If the data entered for the User Name field does not exist in EBS, then Web ADI will throw an error "Enter a valid User Name".
2. Now, if the document is downloaded again using the Oracle Menu > Download option then this error message "Enter a valid User Name" still remains on the spreadsheet which is misleading.
