Transaction form gives " A payment operation was successfully completed for the transaction; its extension entity is no longer updateable" when try to update the Credit Card Number in Payment Instrument Details (Doc ID 2150052.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3 version, FC Core

Cannot change the Payment Instrument at Invoice level in Receivables (AR) Transaction Workbench


When trying to update the Credit Card Number field in AR Transaction Workbench and the Payment Instrument Details window, the following error is returned -

A payment operation was successfully completed for the transaction; its extension entity is no longer updateable.


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login to Receivables (ie Receivables Manager)
2. Transactions, open a transaction
3. Choose the Select Instrument button
4. When try to update the Credit Card Number field in the Payment Instrument Details window error is displayed.


BUSINESS IMPACT
-----------------------
The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot make updates to the payment instrument in Transactions impacting payment processing.
