Default Currency Profiles Needs To Extend To Charges From Debrief (Doc ID 2152651.1)

Last updated on JULY 24, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Teleservice - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On 12.1.3 -

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
The fix provided in Bug 18016214 works in Charges, however, it includes the comment:

             * Note :
Default currency profiles are not applicable for charge lines created from Depot Repair.
Also, they are not applicable for Charge lines created from Debrief.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The solution is incomplete, as 99% of our charge lines are created as a result of the Debrief.

STEPS
-----------------------
Users are using the same Price List in two different countries.
The currency conversion setups are complete, and they can select either Currency in Charges.

However - it is not feasible to have to select the Currency on every Charge line before booking.
So customer basically needs a way to default the currency in Charges.
It looks like the main Currency of the Price List is defaulted.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
The defaulting should work for Debrief lines as well.

Both lines need to be handled the same way, whether they are created from Debrief and or manually created in Charges.
Need to default the desired currency, and handle the Currency conversion after that.

WHAT IS WORKING
---------------
After applying the patch and setting the profiles Service: Defaulting Options for Currency on Charge Lines to "Default from profile Service:Default Currency for Charge Line" and Service: Default Currency for Charge Lines to "Canadian Dollar",  find the currency on the charge lines default properly  to CAD However, this change prevents users from being able to complete the Debrief. The error states the Item and Price List combination is not valid.

However, setting  those profiles back to their previous selections, it will complete without error.
