MRP Is Not Creating Correct Quantity Requisition In The Case Of Different Unit Of Measure. (Doc ID 2187684.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 25, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Purchasing - Version and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Req quantities are being updated from original quantity to much, much larger quantity which can be traced to UOM conversion setups

Item is setup with Primary UOM - and different purchasing UOM
Item conversions are setup

MRP plans in primary UOM and when planned orders are released - conversion happens and Req is created using different purchasing UOM

SO -- Originally suspected that when MRP released planned order, the Req was created with wrong quantity

After tracking for long time, can see MRP created REQ's a created with right conversion and correct quantity
and it was discovered that APPROVED Req has quantity changed for unknown reason AFTER the req has been created.

SO - it appears that some change done to the Req by user is causing a conversion operation to trigger and causing this problem.

MRP creates planned order and release the order and get Req created
- all OK
Check back a few days later and find that some Req lines have quantity changed, and if you use Original quantity * conversion factor, it matches

Approved Req should not have quantity changed

HUGE over-ordering when req quantity is changed
