BOMFDBOM: When Creating Bills, User Can Enter Supply Locator When Supply Subinventory is Non Locator Controlled ?
Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2016
Applies to:Oracle Bills of Material - Version 12.1.3 to 12.2 [Release 12.1 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
On Bills of Material form, User can enter supply subinventory and supply locator even though the subinventory is non-locator controlled. User is only shown a Note below and is allowed to save the locator detail -
This is expected behavior. Changes were made in 126.96.36.199 to support an enhancement on Kanban functionality.
Here, even though a locator is entered for a non-locator controlled subinventory, transactions are done by Inventory / WIP based on the locator control of the subinventory.
This means non-locator subinventories WILL NOT have locator entries while doing Inventory or WIP transactions even though Bills form has a locator.
Additionally, Bills form will also show a note whenever users enter a locator for a non-locator controlled subinventory so as to avoid problems with MRP planning.
