Have a location in Erlanger, KY that has been confirmed to be in Boone County. When correcting this in Oracle Erlanger, Boone County, KY has the same city code (0260) as Florence, Boone County, KY. Therefore, Florence city screen is added to the employee’s record, and deducting Florence city erroneously from the employee’s pay check. According to Boone County tax office, only Boone county taxes should be deducted from these employees, no city tax. The city code for Erlanger under Kenton County is 0230.
We would expect that the Erlanger, Boone County combo would populate Erlanger in the city tax records, but is not an option to populate. The city table in Oracle lists Kenton (117) as the primary. Kenton county returned the tax return stating this portion of the city was in Boone County.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Have a work location that should be Erlanger, KY Boone county
2. When this is added, the city Florence is showing as Primary
3. The taxes withheld are for the city Florence
4. The taxes should be withheld for Boone county only
5. The jurisdiction for Erlanger and Florence are the same
