Instance or serial numbers are not displayed on the Repair Order Details Or Logistics tab LOV when profile option "HR: Security profile" is set (Doc ID 2202200.1)

Last updated on JUNE 25, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Depot Repair - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On :  12.1.3 version,

In Depot Repair, instance or serial numbers are not displayed on the Details tab or Logistics tab LOV when the profile option "HR: Security profile" is set.
If instance is created in Org1, and used on Org2 to perform the repair, the instance is not showing up on Org2.
Expect to be able to use any instance number from any org, using any Depot Repair responsibility in the Depot Repair Details /Line level to create a repair order.
Instead, if item instance is in a different org from the one associated to the responsibility being used, the following error occurs

ERROR
-----------
FRM-40212: Invalid value for field REFERENCE_NUMBER

STEPS
-----------------------

1. Defined two HR Security Profiles:

US Vision Super HRMS Manager > Security
Profile: SEC1
Security Type: Secure organizations by organization hierarchy and/or
organization list
Organization Name: Org1

Profile: SEC2
Security Type: Secure organizations by organization hierarchy and/or
organization list
Organization Name: Org2

2. In Inventory, items ITEM01, CHILD01 are assigned to all organizations

3. In Installed base, there is the following parent-child IB Instance configuration:
IB#:0001 (item ITEM01)
|__IB#:0002 (CHILD01)

Scenario#1:
=========
Set profile option "HR: Security profile" to SEC1
Set profile option "Service: Inventory Validation Organization" to Org1
Set profile option "CSD: Default Repair Inventory Org" to Org1

Created a new SR with IB Instance: 0001 in the SR header
In the Repair Order Information section select Item CHILD01 (a child instance)
In the Details tab it is possible to select Instance 0002 (CHILD01) without problem on the Instance LOV

Scenario#2:
=========
Set profile option "HR: Security profile" to SEC2
Set profile option "Service: Inventory Validation Organization" to Org2
Set profile option "CSD: Default Repair Inventory Org" to Org2

Query the same SR that has IB Instance 0001 in the SR header
In the Repair Order Information section select Item CHILD01 (one of the child instances)
In the Details tab Instance 0002 is not available on the Instance LOV

But, if IB Instance 0002 is selected in the SR header, then it is displayed in the Repair Orders Details tab.

The Repair Orders> Details tab > Instance LOV be limited/affected by HR Security Profile and cannot display a child instance.
But if that instance is used in the SR header then the Details tab > Instance LOV shows that instance without problem.
