(Doc ID 2203720.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Internet Expenses - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Is  'mileage tracker' functionality - they replied
"...Mileage Tracker is applicable for Fusion, not applicable for EBS.."

Let me try and give you some background

As you know,, you are using the traditional Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) includes the Oracle Internet Expenses application
The traditional Oracle eBusiness Suite Application runs a database server, application server, clients use PC to connect
- much of EBS code is written in PL/SQL, some in java

Oracle has re-engineered the traditional eBusiness Suite and released a new Product called Oracle Fusion Applications.
Oracle Fusion Applications are primarily written in newer technolgoes, like java
- Oracle Fusion can be run easier on cloud type computing
- easier to add users, add new modules etc

Generally, all the traditional Ebusiness Suite Applications are available in the new Oracle Fusion Applications.
If you get the new Oracle Fusion Application - this will come with an Oracle Internet Expenses Application
- this Application is generally called 'Oracle Fusion Expenses' ( the Fusion Application 'Oracle Fusion Expenses' is very similar in functionality to the traditional eBusiness Suite 'Oracle Internet Expenses' application)

Now, we also have Oracle Mobile Applications which run on Android / iOS devices
Oracle Mobile Applications can be available for both the traditional eBusiness Suite and the new Oracle Fusion Applications.

-this is where it gets a bit confusing ....as both the traditional Oracle eBusiness Suite 'Oracle Internet Expenses' application and the new Fusion Application 'Oracle Fusion Expenses' use THE SAME mobile application
...the Mobile App is called 'Oracle Fusion Expenses Mobile App'

So, as you can see , this can all be a bit confusing :( as there many uses of the term Oracle Fusion Expense Application.

Anyway, I thought I would try and give you this information to help you understand our iExpense Development Team's answer that
"...Mileage Tracker is applicable for Fusion, not applicable for EBS.."

So, what they are saying is that mobile 'Mileage Tracker' functionality is applicable if you use the new 'Oracle Fusion Expenses' application
- but, the 'Mileage Tracker' functionality is not available if you use the traditional eBusiness Suite 'Oracle Internet Expenses' application.
