Common Bill Of Material With Different Primary UOM In Different Organizations (Doc ID 2212130.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 12, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Bills of Material - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

We have an issue related to common bill of material where if an source organization has a unit of measure different than the target organization, then the UOM conversion is not happening at the time of common BOM creation.

For example:
Organization: M1, Item: XYZ, Primary UOM: Ft
Organization: M2, Item: XYZ, Primary UOM: MT

Bill structure M1:
ABC (assembly) UOM Qty
  - XYZ (component) Ft 1

Commoning Bill structure M2:
ABC (assembly) UOM Qty
  - XYZ (component) MT 1

When item XYZ exists as a component within a BOM od assembly 'ABC' in organization LON with UOM Ft and qty 1 and when the BOM of ABC is commoned from M1 to M2 , the qty in the common BOM in M2 is 1 MT rather than the Ft from M1 converted to MT in M2.
