Java Null Pointer Error When Accessing Self-Service > Benefits Email Notifications (Doc ID 2213343.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to access an email notification, the following error occurs:

  at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAWebBeanHelper.processRequest(OAWebBeanHelper.java:647)
  at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAWebBeanContainerHelper.processRequest(OAWebBeanContainerHelper.java:283)
  at oracle.apps.fnd.framework.webui.OAPageLayoutHelper.processRequest(OAPageLayoutHelper.java:1386)

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Go to responsibility Employee Self-Service and select the Benefits function.
2. Make enrollment changes for the Open life event.
Changes made to benefits sends an email notification to the Benefits Administrator.
3. Click the link in the email to view the enrollment changes.
Error occurs.
