Applies to:BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher) - Version 188.8.131.52.x to 184.108.40.206.x [Release 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.
In order to enable French characters to display in BI Publisher, recently added the configuration 'charset=UTF8' in the BI Publisher Data Sources.
Sample Connection String : jdbc:teradata:///charset=UTF8
After the configuration, the French characters were displayed properly but the fields that have CHAR as Data Type have started displaying trial blank spaces in the report.
Consider the data type of field CHAR(4) and the data stored in ABCD.
The SQL Assistant displays 'ABCD', but BI Publisher displays as 'ABCD '.
The number of blank spaces appended is equal to the length of the CHAR data length.
There are reports that uses CHAR column as KEY column in Bursting.
Due to this issue the Bursting delivery is also failing.
