New Hire Life Event Not Reflecting Correct Start Date

New employee started on 8/22 and completed Benefits enrollment on 9/20. HR is expecting employee Benefits to be effective on 8/22 but system is showing 9/20.
It is expected that EMP Benefits should be effective on 8/22 but system is showing 9/20.
Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Hired employee on 8/22/2016, run new hire life event, enrollment window is with a month. The benefit starts date is day of hired.
2. Employee completed benefit enrollment on 9/22
3. HR is expecting his benefits to be effective on 8/22 but Oracle is showing 9/20. there is marriage life event set up with triggers:
Column: Marital status
value from any value to married
4. When employee entered spouse, and entered married, this triggers the Married Life Event, that backed out the original new hire life event, voided married life event, inserted a new hire life event with the 9/22 starts date instead of the original 8/22 start date.
