Child Optional ATO Item Unavailable - When Optional Item is Unavailable, Its Parent is Unavailable (Doc ID 2227630.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.1.3.31.8 version, Runtime UI

When attempting to configure a newly released PTO BOM model using Oracle Configurator's generic user interface, an optional child ATO model is not available. There may be other child models available under the parent option class, but some or all of the child items display as unavailable. The following error is reported. The model uses the following setup:

PTO Model (Parent)
|-ATO Model (Optional)
  |-ATO Child OC (Required)
    |-Purchased Item (Required)

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Order Management responsibility, child organization
2. Create a new sales order
3. Add an order line for the parent PTO model
4. Select Configurator
5. Attempt to select child ATO option
6. Cannot select, termination error reported.

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot select either one of these two optional items.
