In Performance Management Change Main Appraiser on the Appraisal, After Entering the New Appraiser's Record, Error Occur - java.lang.NullPointerException

On : 12.1 HRMS RUP8 version, Appraisals
When users attempt to change the main appraiser on the appraisal, after
entering the new appraiser's record, clicking apply and then confirming it with Yes,
following error occur.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Login in application
2. Performance Management
4. Click on the Change Main Appraiser button, xxx has ‘switched manager’ to yyy.
5. Completed the appraisal and now wants to return.
6. Main Appraiser Review
7. Change Appraisal Details
8. Then clicks on the Yes button
