Duplicate Assets Created When Stopping The Association Of Parent Asset (Doc ID 2242478.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 25, 2019

Oracle Enterprise Asset Management - Version 12.2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Some assets had no parent and never did. When trying to add a parent through self-service configuration history, the system timed out and duplicate assets are created.

Asset W-DIST had no parent and never did.
Then went to Forms and put the part Collections and Distribution as the part and pressed Save. It ran for over three hours.
After three hours of running, there are now four asset records of W-DIST with the parent Collections and Distribution, and when I go look at the config history it shows the parent 4 times.

System should not time out and duplicates should not be created when adding a parent through self-service configuration history.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Responsibility: Maintenance Super User.
2. Click on Assets > Capital
3. Search for Asset
4. Select Configuration History from the drop down and click go
5. Select Associate Parent
6. Enter Parent Asset Collection and Distribution
7. Click Apply
