Contract Header Period Changes to the Highest Time Unit of Measure (Doc ID 224497.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Service Contracts - Version 11.5.7 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After a Contract having a Period that could be expressed with different Time Unit of Measure (1 Year could be expressed as is, or as 12 months or as 52 weeks, or as 365 days .. ) is saved, the Contracts Period converts to the highest Time Unit of Measure available.

For example, when a new Contract is created with a duration of 36 months, the Contract is saved with a duration of 36 months. However, when you close the Contract and then requery it, the duration changes from 36 months to 3 years. Note that if a new contract is entered with a duration of 42 months (or any
amount of months that isn't divisible by 12), it does not convert the duration, to years.
