Add Subquery In A Select Statement For Data Set In Query Builder (Doc ID 2249662.1)

Last updated on MARCH 20, 2019

Applies to:

BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher) - Version 11.1.1.9.x to 11.1.1.9.x [Release 11.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

In the Oracle documentation FMW Data Modeling Guide for BI Publisher it is mentioned:

"2.3.3.11 Specifying Query Conditions

The condition modifies the query's WHERE clause. When specifying a column condition, you must include the appropriate operator and operand. All standard SQL conditions are supported. For example:

>=10

='VA'

IN (SELECT dept_no FROM dept)

BETWEEN SYSDATE AND SYSDATE + 15"

Above information was tested and it seems fine when we construct the Data set. However, when we re-open the data set with Query builder, the WHERE clause in the select statement that was originally written in the condition gone missing.

This behavior can be reproduced on BI Publisher (formerly XML Publisher) - Version 11.1.1.9.X and 12c. The behavior is not a bug but is expected.

How can we solve this issue?
