"Invalid Email Address" When Entering An Emaill Address Domain That Has More Than Three Characters in CRM HTML Administration

In 12.2.4, from CRM HTML Administration responsibility User Maintenance page entering email address like <firstname.lastname@example.org> then saving receive the message "Invalid Email Address."
Steps To Reproduce
1. CRM HTML Administration > Setup > Users > Registration > User Maintenance query existing user > enter email address like <email@example.com> and click next and receive the following error Invalid Email Address
Address format such as <firstname.lastname@example.org> does not cause the error.
