Symptoms

In the Service Request form, when attempting to create a Field Service Task and schedule it manually, the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
Please enter a quantity for planned efforts

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1 - Create a Service Request
2 - Create a Task in Pending status.
. Planned Effort UOM defaults to 8 hours
. Planned Start Time & End Time default to current time
3 - Manually assign the Task to a Resource.
     This works fine.
4 - Enter Schedule Start Date.
Schedule End Date is calculated as Schedule Start Date + 8 hours
5 - At this point of time, the Planned Effort hours disappear but the effort UOM remains as "Hours".
