APP-PER-376002 Error in the People Form When Entering an RFC ID Which Begins with an Accented Letter Like Ñ

When attempting to enter an RFC ID in the People form which starts with an accented letter like 'Ñ', the following error occurs.

APP-PER-376002: The RFC number is invalid.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1. Log on to the Applications.
  2. Choose a Mexico HR responsibility, e.g. Mexico HRMS Manager.
  3. Navigate to People-> Enter and Maintain.
  4. Click the New button.
  5. Enter a name in the field Paternal Last.
  6. Click on the Additional Identifiers tab.
  7. Enter an RFC ID like 'ÑOQJ-780509-I95' and click the tab key.
