How To: Merge Lots then Split To Return Back To The Original Lots (Doc ID 2260489.1)

Goal

NOTE:

As the functionality of splitting a lot, then re-merging that same lot is not documented, the goal here is to document the designed functionality of the following scenario:

Assume first there is the same part, revision, subinventory and locator for all lots. Begin by merging LotB quantity 5 into LotA quantity 5 resulting in LotA quantity 10.

Now split the LotA qty 10 back to LotA qty 5 and LotB qty 5.

It seems the only way to perform this is to first split LotA quantity 10 to "LotA.Temp" quantity 5 and" LotB.Temp" quantity 5 to avoid "lot already exists in org" errors. Once these temp lots are created with the proper quantity, one can then translate them to the LotA quantity 5 and LotB quantity 5.
