Symptoms

E-Business Suite R12 Applications DBA, Issues with the Functionality of AD Utilities

 



When attempting to start the applications services via script adstall.sh the following error occurs:

--> Process (index=y,uid=xxxxxx,pid=0)
  no port available from the port range
  failed to start a managed process after the maximum retry limit
  no port available from the port range
  no port available from the port range
  Log:
  none


The problem may also begin to occur after cloning.

The issue is reproducible via the following steps:

1. Login to application server set environment
2. Go to $ADMIN_SCRIPT_HOME
3. Start application services using adstall.sh script
4. Oacore services failed to start


The issue has the following business impact:

DBA is not able to start the applications and release the instance to the user community.
