How can we find or get errors hit in the Lease Contract Open Interface?

A custom script / program is being used to submit the Lease Contract Open Interface. When errors are hit they are not being returned to the custom code.
Errors from the Lease Contract Open Interface program can only be found in the output / log file for the request. Is there any way to have these errors returned by the API or stored in tables referencing the contract in error?
